Homework!

The weather is getting colder, and with colder weather comes jackets, hats, and gloves! For homework this weekend please have your child practice putting their coat on and zipping by themselves. At school we teach the children two ways to out on their coat; tag to toes, and the super hero. Here are videos of each strategy to help you and your child practice together at home. 🙂

Classroom Spotlight

This week the children worked on beginning writing skills by making their first journal entry! We talked about how our journals are like a book, and that the pictures we draw on the top of the page should match with the word we are writing (or having the teacher write for us) at the bottom of the page. We also focused on adding details like backgrounds, items of clothing, and other people to our drawings. During math the children have been focusing on shapes and counting. During small group time the children combined shapes to make pictures as well and went on a shape hunt around the school to see how many of each shape they could find.

If you are paying by cash please make sure to put EXACT CHANGE in your child’s envelope and give it to me on October 23rd. I WILL NOT be able to make change at school.
