Learning Activities for Thursday, May 14th
Office Hours
My office hours will be 3-6pm Monday-Thursday. This is the time I will be answering emails, responding to Remind messages, making phone calls, etc. If you message me earlier in the day I will reply between 3-6pm. If you message me after 6pm I will reply the next day between 3-6pm.

Exercising, playing, reading, and having school time!
I just finished exercising so I was very sweaty! Rhett is my personal trainer.🤣 I set up my office in an extra room in my house. Rhett decided to reorganize my papers.🤦‍♀️ The boys started making a space movie! Working on school work. Working on school work.

Work Time
Turn off those screens and play with some toys, color, paint… anything you can think of!
Planning Time (5 minutes): Build your child’s ability to organize their time by having them make a “plan” with you about what they would like to play with. Children do this everyday with us at school. It helps children learn to organize their thoughts. Adults make plans all the time to organize their thoughts (shopping lists are made before going to the grocery store, to do lists are made to help plan your day etc..).
Work Time (45-60 minutes): During work time kids play WITHOUT ELECTRONICS. Kids can use toys to pretend play, build, and create.
Clean Up (about 15 minutes): Kids clean up the mess they have made while playing.
Recall Time (5 minutes): Build your child’s memory of events by having your child tell you what they did while they played (ask “tell me how you did that” or “what did you do next?”)
Assignment
Have you noticed how wacky our weather has been lately? Snow, rain, clouds, sun…we’ve had it all these past few weeks! Here’s a story about a town that had LOTS of wacky weather!
1.Draw and write about a silly kind of weather that you imagine! Will it rain tacos? Will it snow marshmallows? Be creative! If you have paper and want to make it more crafty go ahead! Send me a picture when you finish!
2.Math: Check the weather and record it on our graph. You may continue to graph the weather if you wish to! What are you noticing? Take a survey of your family and ask them about their favorite kind of weather. Which kind do they like the best? Which kind do they like the least?
3.Read together for 20 minutes.
4. Get outside and go for a walk/play in the backyard. If you can’t, sing and dance along!
