Office Hours

My office hours will be 3-6pm Monday-Thursday. This is the time I will be answering emails, responding to Remind messages, making phone calls, etc. If you message me earlier in the d9ay I will reply between 3-6pm. If you message me after 6pm I will reply the next day between 3-6pm.

Kindergarten Registration

Information about Kindergarten Round-ups for next school year can be found at the link at the top of the blog.

Every GSRP student is ALREADY registered for Kindergarten at their home school.  There is NO need for families to fill out the kindergarten registration forms through the district.

The only information they HAVE TO HAVE is an updated Immunization Record and any information necessary if you have moved.

The health appraisals are a part of registration but are not mandated.

Blue Angels Fly Over

Did you see the Blue Angel jets fly over Dearborn?! My family and I were on a walk and made it just in time to see them fly over Ford Field Park.

Tips for a healthy and happy Ramadan

LAHC, a local health and wellness agency shared this info with teachers so I am passing it along to you! They have shared some great tips for staying healthy, hydrated, and active during Ramadan!

Homeschool Heroes

Letter of the Week

Work Time

Turn off those screens and play with some toys, color, paint… anything you can think of!

Planning Time (5 minutes): Build your child’s ability to organize their time by having them make a “plan” with you about what they would like to play with.  Children do this everyday with us at school. It helps children learn to organize their thoughts. Adults make plans all the time to organize their thoughts (shopping lists are made before going to the grocery store, to do lists are made to help plan your day etc..).

Work Time (45-60 minutes): During work time kids play WITHOUT ELECTRONICS.  Kids can use toys to pretend play, build, and create.

Clean Up (about 15 minutes):  Kids clean up the mess they have made while playing.

Recall Time (5 minutes): Build your child’s memory of events by having your child tell you what they did while they played (ask “tell me how you did that” or “what did you do next?”)

Assignment

We’re continuing our weather study by looking at clouds today!

1. Let’s take a look at some information about different types of clouds.

Now that we know about different types of clouds we’re going to read a special book called, It Looked Like Spilt Milk.

Now it’s your turn to make a cloud picture! You can use what ever materials you like to make your picture. Cotton balls, crayons, paint, whatever you like! When you are done, write down what you like your cloud looks like. Here are some examples using cotton balls:

2.Check the weather and fill in your weather graph from Monday.

3.Read together for 20 minutes.

4.Get outside and go for a walk or play in your backyard! If you can’t, dance and sing to The Cloud Song.

Have a great day!
