This Week in Mrs. Stawara’s Class

The children have been working on naming and recognizing shapes. We played Shape Bingo. This game helped us practice naming colors and shapes. We also had a shape hunt. We looked for shapes in our classroom and we drew the shapes on white boards. We also learned about triangles. We made a triangle collage using different sizes of triangles. Please continue working on shapes at home with your child. Next week we will be learning about circles, squares, and triangles. We will be learning about the letter D too!

Remiders:

  1. Please remember to send back library books to school on Monday, if your child brought a book home.
  2. We go outside everyday as long as the temperature is above 20 degrees. Please be sure to send your child’s hat and gloves/mittens to school.
  3. A friendly reminder that your child knows the arrival routine very well. Parents we ask you to sign your child in for the day, and give your child a hug and a kiss. Your child is able to take off jackets and backpacks with no help at this point. They can wash their hands and get their breakfast too! This is the process of getting your child ready for kindergarten and for your child to become independent. Thank you for following this request.
  4. Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 19 as Cotter hosts a Winter Fair. You and your preschool child will go from room to room at Cotter participating in a variety of fun activities. Our classroom time is 10:15 a.m. Please come with your child at 10:15 a.m. to Cotter and join in the fun!

Have a great weekend!
