Dear Families,

I will be sending each of you an email link to a survey so we can determine what type of things your child and family may need during this unprecedented time. Please be sure to complete the survey as soon as possible.

Please email me directly if you are in need of internet access or a device for your child to complete his/her school work. This information I need to know today as I have to let our district know which families are still in need of such items. Please email me at stawark@dearbornschools.org.

Please remember we are here to help you, be sure to let me know were you may need assistance.

Thank you for your cooperation in completing the survey.

Learning Activities for Wednesday, April 1

Today we will continue working on the letter Ff.

  1. Have your child listen and sing to the letter F song song.https://youtu.be/LWMED_3Nvig

Have your child write the lowercase letter f five times. Then have them practice writing the uppercase letter F five times. If you have playdough at home or if you choose to make some with your child (I posted a simple recipe for playdough) use the playdough to help your child make the letters too!

2. Listen to the following story with your child. When finished listening to the story ask your child the following questions: Why did Jackson have a hard time sleeping? What did he do to stop the noises at night? Who are his new friends? Did you like the story? Why or why not? What was your favorite part of the story?

3. Let’s do some movement today. Here are some of the children’s favorite songs from school. Have fun!

EASY PLAYDOUGH RECIPE VIDEO

Here is a video on how to make playdough at home.

Here is a video on how to make playdough at home.

You will need: water, flour, salt, oil

This recipe includes food coloring but if you don’t have food color at home don’t worry just follow the recipe as the video shows without the food color. Be sure to do this at the table because it will get a bit messy but it’s a great activity for you to do with your children. Remember this simple activity covers learning in math, language, science, fine motor, and more.
