Scavenger Hunt and Writing Activity for Tuesday, March 17

Celebrating Green Day with a scavenger hunt!

Help your child find and collect things that are green. As items are found check them off with a green marker or crayon (if you do not have a green crayon or marker, you can use a regular pencil). If you can send me pictures of things your child found, I would be so excited to receive them!

  • Find something that grows green.
  • Find something soft that is green.
  • Find one snack item that is green.
  • Name one animal that is green.
  • Find something hard that is green.
  • Name a fruit that is green.
  • Find something you play with that is green.
  • Find something you can color with that is green.
  • Find something you can build with that is green.
  • Find something you can wear that is green.

Writing Activity

Supplies needed: paper, crayons, markers, or a pencil

After completing the scavenger hunt have your child draw a picture of something green they found. Write their words below the picture describing the item. Have your child write his/her first and last name on the back of the paper.

I would love to see photos of your child and their work. If you cannot send photos, please save completed work in your child’s blue school folder. They can show their work to Mrs. Hamid and I upon their return to school.

Reading Activity

Read with your child for 20 minutes. Talk about the front of the book, back of the book, point where you start to read.
