DAY #5

Good Morning Maples Family, I hope all of you that needed to get a Chromebook were able to get one to continue to STRENGTHEN YOUR MIND! Today I wanted to share my latest Lego build, I just finished it last night. I also have pictures from Ibrahim and Sara Bahlak, I will post any Lego builds you send to me. If you have Lego bricks, build with them! They are a great and creative way to express yourselves. If you need a brain break from all of your work and want to have fun using your imagination dump your bricks on the floor and get to playing! As always stay Safe and Healthy.

I plan to post a message everyday we are not in school, including weekends. Some will be shorter than others but I will always say Hi.

DAY #3

Good afternoon Maples Family, I apologize for the late post, Mrs. Stage hijacked my laptop so she could work with her class all day so far, but thats ok as I said yesterday a STRONG MIND makes you POWERFUL!

How many of you like Super Heroes? Who are your favorite Super Heroes? I love Super Heros as many of you know and my favorites are IRON MAN and CAPTAIN AMERICA. What do they both have in common besides Awesome Strength, Courage and Power? IRON MAN (Tony Stark) is only Iron Man because of Tony Stark’s amazing BRAIN! He used the POWER OF THE MIND to become a Super Hero. CAPTAIN AMERICA, he was made by the SMARTEST SCIENTISTS IN THE WORLD, again people who used the POWER OF THE MIND to make something great! Do I think you will all become crime fighting Super Heroes that can fly or pick up cars? NO, but by building your minds you will all become Super Heroes in what ever you decide to do when you grow up! Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, anything you can imagine! So make sure you are doing all the work your Teachers are giving you while we are not going to school.

Message or Email me to let me know who your favorite Super Heroes are and remember I just talked about how important the POWER OF THE MIND is but Super Heroes also have Super Strength and they have to work out to keep strong. Make sure you are doing your exercises, research different exercises and try them but be careful and don’t over do it. Listen to your bodies, if something hurts STOP. Be Safe Everyone, I miss seeing all of you in the GYM! We will get back there and the first day back we will play one of the games you all create and teach me. Talk Tomorrow

DAY #2

Good Morning, well here we are day #2 of our time off. I hope everyone is feeling well and staying home. Remember a Strong Mind is just as important as a Strong Body, so make sure you are doing everything you can to strengthen your minds during this time away from school. Read, Write stories, work on your Math, follow what your teachers are providing. You are the only one that can put the effort in to do the work and become great. So Make Yourselves Great!

Now, I have been thinking of something for all of you to do besides doing exercises. 1st Starting tomorrow I will post one exercise, stretch, activity, game etc. for you to try. 2nd I am looking for new games for when we get back to the gym. I challenge all of you to make up a game to play, you must come up with the rules. Please make sure it is a game that can be played with Small groups (10 people or less) and Large groups (15-40). Please share your games with me by commenting on here or emailing me at stagea@dearbornschools.org. I will choose some of them for us to play when we get back to school. Send me pictures of you working out, your Lego Creations or Playing and I will post them on this blog!! Talk to you tomorrow.

Stay Moving! Maples Stay at Home Fitness Week #1

Good morning Maples Family, as I mentioned in my post on Friday we all need to stay physically active while we are at home. Your Health is very important to me so please Stay Moving! I am adding some daily exercises I want you to do while we are apart. Please stay ACTIVE!! Look for my next Post we are going to have a Contest!

1. Daily Stretching https://www.coachup.com/nation/articles/the-10-best-stretches-for-total-body-flexibility

2. 15 Push ups- Regular 20 Modified Push ups like in class

3. 40 sit ups- if you cannot do this all at one time then do 10 at a time throughout the day.

4. 50 Jumping Jacks

5. Run in Place for 3 minutes, 30 seconds at a time. or Jump Rope for 3 minutes if you have a Jump Rope

Hello Everyone

Good morning Maples Family, in these uncertain times it has never been more important to stay healthy. Being home for 4 weeks can make us all want to sit on the couch and watch TV. However, it is very important for all of us to remain physically active. Please look to my blog weekly on Monday’s for information and exercises to do throughout the week while we are home during this time.
