Reading and Math Resources to Consider using IXL

Dear Parents and Students,

I would like to provide you with an excellent website to refer to in regards to working on specific Reading and Math skills with your student. Lessons are offered in other academic subject areas as well.

Many of you may already be familiar with IXL. The sites below will take you directly to (ela) Language Arts or Math skill plans for 8 weeks of lessons. Take a look and try it out. This is an on line, paperless program. Within the upcoming weeks, I hope to guide you towards more specific skills to use with your student that reflect the Goals and Objectives written into their IEP’s.

As I recommended with the education.com printable work packet site:

  • Refer to your student’s current IEP for their specific academic Annual Goals and Short Term Objectives
  • Select skills at one to two grade levels below your student’s current grade placement
  • Guide your student through the lesson to make sure they become familiar with using the program and, once again, the level selected is at their reading fluency and comprehension levels

  • Students will have to use their IXL usernames and passwords from school. If your student has forgotten his/her information, please contact me. I have asked teachers to provide me with this information.
  • Once your student has ‘signed in’ scroll down to Spotlight, choose your grade level and 8 weeks of lessons are offered.

Any questions or concerns, please contact me through my school email: yarosd@dearbornschools.org.
