  • Dress/undress themselves as much as possible
  • Wash hands
  • Brush your hair
  • Brush your teeth
  • Put clothes away
  • Put dishes in sink when finished eating
  • Help sort laundry/put dirty clothes in hamper

Color Scavenger Hunt

Today have your child go on a scavenger hunt for colors!  They can find colored items around the house or outside during a walk.  Help your child sort the items found by color and encourage your child to try to say the color names.   See the photo below for an idea of how to prepare or just start searching!

Sensory Play

Today, try making homemade play dough with your child.  Check out the video below to see how!  We typically bake once a week at school with our speech therapist and your children love to help!  They have had a lot of practice measuring and adding ingredients to a bowl.  They are also very good at mixing ingredients together.  After you’ve made your play dough, encourage your child to:

  • Roll small balls
  • Roll long snakes
  • Smash a large ball until it is flat
  • If you have cookie cutters they can cut shapes out of the dough once its flat

All of these will help strengthen your child’s hand muscles and develop control of their fingers.
