Dear Parents,

I would like to send you my sincere appreciation for trusting me with your student this year! It has honestly been a wonderful school year! We shared many laughs, smiles, and even shed a few tears of joy along the way. I wish you a wonderful summer filled with love, laughter, and special memories.  Again, thank you for sharing your most prized possession with me! Be sure to come back and visit me next year!

Summer Learning Requirements

ATTENTION:

As you all know, all students have a summer learning requirement for reading and MobyMax.  Students are only getting minutes counted for Reading Skills Literature, Language, and Vocabulary. Students need to complete 480 minutes of MobyMax and 480 minutes of Khan Academy. 

 

 

Suggestions: 20 minutes a day ( 10 minutes- Math & 10 minutes MobyMax)

OR

Tuesday: 1 hour of Khan Academy

Thursday: 1 hour of MobyMax

“Nadia the Willful” Stations

This week students completed:

  • KWL chart for the Desert Dwellers- Bedouins
  • Watched 2 short videos about the Bedouins
  • Read an informational article about the Bedouins
  • Previewed “Nadia the Willful”
  • Defined 12 terms- boxed in orange in their Fab. Vocab.
  • Listened to the text via audio
  • Started the stop sign activity for “Nadia the Willful”

 

Homework: all library books due on FRIDAY & I will be collecting Fab. Vocab as well- this will count as a test grade!

 

Next Week:

” Nadia the Willful” stations-

  1. Plot- pyramid of action
  2. compare and contrast- triple Venn Diagram
  3. Greek/Latin “Path” & collage- 10 pics
  4. vocabulary flip book- define, sentence, picture–all needs to be colored!!!

End of the Year Trips

6th Grade

2017 End-of-the-Year Field Trip

5-22-17

Depart from Lowrey- 8:15

Arrive at Lowrey- 3:00- 3:05

Stop One:  EMAGINE THEATRE  39535 Ford Rd, Canton, MI 48187

6th Grade students will have a theater all to themselves to watch Diary of a Wimpy Kid-The Long Haul.

The show will start at approximately 9:00 a.m.  Students will receive a movie ticket, a soda, and a small popcorn at Emagine.

Stop Two:  Skatin Station 8611 Ronda, Canton, MI 48187

After the movie, students will board the buses again, and travel to Skatin Station.  We will arrive at approximately 11:30 a.m.  After checking in, students will have roughly 30 minutes to eat in the snack bar followed by 120 minutes to skate. Skating session will begin at 12PM.   Students will have to bring a bagged lunch from home. Please remember, no glass bottles.

 

Wednesday- Hemlock Park

Students need to bring a sack lunch and plenty of drinks.  NO GLASS BOTTLES

Students may bring basketballs, baseballs, footballs, volleyballs, electronics…so on.

Students are not allowed to bring anything with wheels!!
