Monday:

  • Argumentative pre- test
  • Introducing argumentative writing using CANDY!!!!
  • Homework: Write the 12 argumentative terms in your Fab. Vocab- boxed in RED!

Tuesday: 

  • Everyday Edits bell work
  • Maria’s situation- argue with your table mates who is to blame for Maria’s suspension–be sure to add specific examples from the text.

Wednesday:

  • Read/ Listen to I Wanna Iguana – practice creating an argumentative T-chart

Thursday:

  • Introduce 2 informational sources about iguanas
  • add to T- Chart 
  • decide on the side that you are going to argue for
  • circle the top 2 arguments
  • circle the weakest argument from the opposing side

Friday:

  • Argumentative Organizer for I Wanna Iguana
  • include 2 citations
  • Practice writing a counter argument paragraph
