We enjoyed our last parent reader today, Mrs. Saleh, Isabella’s mom. Mrs. Sales read a special book- a book that was given to her from her mom when Mrs. Sales was pregnant with Isabella! How special!

My apologies to Mr. Denison, Mr. Hamka, and Mrs. Hansen!!!
I accidently hit “Delete” when I went to send my pictures to my blog. I am so sorry. If you’d like to stop in for another photo shoot, I’ll take your picture again.
Week of March 24, 2014

READING-We move into week 2 of our unit about Plants. This week’s theme is Seeds and Plants. We’ll talk about how seeds travel and remind ourselves that plants grow from seeds. Look for ways that seeds travel as the snow thaws and you can be outside.
WRITING-We will explore and write with SIMILIES! Of course we will use our good steps of writing by writing a rough draft, revising and editing the draft, and finally publishing the writing. This is the writing process that they will always use when they write (even in college and after) so I start them early!
LETTERS/WORDS-“U u” (Their helper word from me is “umbrella.) Here here Was was
MATH-We will review position words, work with telling time (hour and half hour), and we’ll do some skip counting (counting on from any number that I give them). ie. 14 –,–,–,– 28–,–,–,– 53, –,–,– Have fun with this as you drive around on errands, make beds together, etc.
Spring is on it’s way but our weather changes daily. Please be sure that your child has boots on those rainy, soggy days. I do try to get them outside but our playground is so muddy and soggy right now. They need to have boots to go on the grassy area/equipment area. If they don’t have boots then they stay on the porch. I heard that tomorrow might bring snow and Friday might bring temperatures of 50! Happy Spring!
REPORT CARDS-Thursday I will be sending home Report Cards. If I am meeting with you for a conference Thursday you will receive your child’s card at that time.
