Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed the breath of Spring offered to us! I spent some days with 3 of my granddaughters. They decided to fill Easter Eggs and hide them for my husband and me to find. 38 eggs were filled and hidden. 32 eggs were found. oh boy…I’ll be looking for a while to find the remaining eggs.
The kids has soooo much to tell me! Lost teeth, new haircuts, new shoes, trips, visits, making tents, food, etc. Sounds like you were busy during the days, making beautiful memories! Wonderful!
Here’s a look at what we’ll be doing in here…
READING/WRITING-Spring!!
WRITING-OPINION WRITING about Spring
Next week they will be writing an Informational Piece and it is to be a “cold write,” meaning no help from me and it will be graded (assessed). So, I am trying to have them write as much as possible on their own for practice.
MATH-We will finish Module 4 by Friday.
SCIENCE-Plants Our potatoes are starting to “change!!” We are being real Scientists as we observe, predict and document our observations. The noise level of excitement in here this morning was quite high…they are really enjoying the changes in the potatoes.
SPELLING-“in” chunk fin tin win bin pin spin into will this = 9 words
PHONICS-sp st blends Look for words in your reading that start with these blends.
READING GROUPS- Great progress continues. I am impressed with their reading levels and how they are moving upward. Good reading, good comprehension (it’s important to know what you read), and good prediction. I am also working on summarizing and sequencing with them…”What was this story about?” “What happened first, next, last?” Practice these skills at home when you read to them every night.
WEDNESDAY-Library Day
Have a beautiful week.
