Today we had a visit from Avery Pelty’s dad, Firefighter Pelty.  We learned a lot about fire prevention, what the parts of his uniform are called and things we should do as  family to keep safe.  We need to make sure that our houses have a smoke detector, a carbon monoxide detector, and our families need an outside meeting place in case of a fire.  We also learned NOT to go back in for any toys or pets.  We’ll leave that job to the firefighters.  If we are in our bedrooms when a fire occurs, we can throw toys out of the window to let the firefighters know that someone is in that room.

Thank you firefighter Pelty for teaching us about fire safety, since October is Fire Prevention Month.

Here some pictures of Firefighter Pelty’s time with us.
