Wow…what a fun week!  Lots of celebrating and learning too.  Here’s to a week off and then back at more learning.

READING-We will begin Unit 7 WEATHER.  Our weekly theme will be Kinds of  Weather.

WRITING-What else…we’ll write about different kinds of weather, our favorite type of weather, what constitutes that weather, etc  You can begin this conversation during the break.

Beginning, Middle, End will be revisited again.  Try this with stories that you read at home.  What happened first?  Middle of the story?  Last in the story?

MATH-Lots of “counting on from a given number.”

SCIENCE-Water!!  Waterproof?  Why?  Why not?  Try this at home too

SPELLING WORDS-Please help your child study these words.  Have them write the words.  All letters must be written correctly.  If not, the word is incorrect.  For example, today several folks missed “jet” because the lower case j was written above the line.  Also, some wrote it going in the wrong direction.  Same thing with “for”  “f” and ‘r” were backwards.  That’s why it is important to have the student write the words so that you/they can check each letter.

We will be working with the ‘ig” family.  (MAKE SURE THE g HOOKS BELOW THE LINE!  ALSO CHECK THAT THE b and d ARE GOING IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION)
