My dear Kindergarteners and families,

I have been wrestling with the proper words to use when writing this Blog. Since the directive came to remain at home and all schools are closed until further notice, so many thoughts have gone through my mind. The first thought is about missed days and events with YOU!!. We were sailing along so well, lots of terrific reading, good strategies and skills, great comprehension and problem solving, and your writing was blossoming! Well, although we are not physically together, we can keep in touch via computers and you sharing samples of your work. I am so proud of each of you.

Parents, I appreciate you taking on this new role of “teacher.” Trying to balance home needs of laundry, meals, grocery shopping, housecleaning, now has the responsibility of “teaching” added on and, for some of you, that means “teaching” more that one grade level too. Believe me, I really appreciate what you are doing. You are the role model at home as to how to handle this new event, the likes of which we have never had before.

Together we will get through this.

This afternoon I am trying to set up a time when we can all see each other online. Details to follow. I just wanted to check in with you today. On Friday I will be working on next week’s plans and will post when ready.

I will probably not be checking my mail for the rest of this week, as it is Holy Week for me. In the meantime, be well, stay safe, and for those observing, have a Blessed Easter!!
