Hello Snow!!

Here is our procedure for snow weather…

Please have your child WEAR their boots to school. SHOES GO IN BACKPACK. Have your child put their shoes in their backpack-that way they will know that they have shoes. Even if the sidewalk looks clear, they need to wear their boots to school. Some snow and water gets carried in on their boots and the warm building will melt the snow. Boots stay in the hall so as not to get tracked into the room and onto the carpet where they sit to begin their day. I don’t want them sitting on wet carpet. 25 kids can bring in a lot of snow and wetness!

So shoes IN BACKPACK. Wear boots to school.

If your child does not yet have boots, this weekend would be a good opportunity to grab some!

Thank you for your help.

Once a month all Howard students gather in the gym to celebrate the good choices that we have made during the month. Today we gathered to celebrate those students who made good choices during the month of October. We call that “being on green.” Each teacher gets to announce the students in her class who stayed on green all month. Just about all of my students managed to make good choices by being responsible, respectful, and safe. We talk about INTEGRITY and discuss opportunities to show respect. We try to practice what we preach!! We think of others.

After each teacher announces her “All Green Students,” where they stand when their name is called and are recognized by the entire student body, Teachers then announce their “Students of the Month”. these are students who went above and beyond with good choices, helping others, seeing something that needs to be done and does it without being asking.

there are a few other awards given…

Mr. Haliburda (GYM) gives the “Sportsmanship Award” for the class that showed the best cooperation and sportsmanship

Mrs. Thomas (ART) gives the “Mona Lisa” award to the class that is on task, following directions, and works safely in the ART room

Mrs. Bagnell (MUSIC) gives the award to the class who participates, cooperated, and follows directions the best.

Mrs. Lazar (PRINCIPAL) gives the “Etiquette Award” to the class who demonstrates courtesies, good manners, and cleans up after themselves in the cafeteria.

Well….

Take a look at which award WE were awarded today!
