Today students are bringing home a small brown book about Turkeys. It is an Informational Book. We have been reading and researching information about turkeys. Now the students had to write their own sentences about turkeys, complete with a capital letter at the beginning, spaces between words, and a period at the end. Please have your child read their book to you. Lots of work for first quarter Kindergarteners! I am pleased with their work and effort and they are proud of their accomplishment.

Even though there is no snow on some of the sidewalks, students still need to wear boots to school. They go outside for lunch recess and there is snow on the playground and, of course, they always want to play in it

MATH was fun today. I gave them a 2 inch piece of paper and had them find things that were longer than the paper and shorter than the paper. New vocabulary for this unit of MEASUREMENT. Yesterday we worked with taller than and shorter than. More new vocabulary for describing measurement and comparison.

Have a good evening.
