Here is a little info as to what Module 4 lessons are about…you will see these in the homework packet. Remember that Math Homework is due on MONDAYS. Have your child put it in their backpack Sunday evening so they know they have it ready for Monday. Thanks for helping to make your child responsible and develop good school habits.
I am still trying to get my pictures loaded to my blog form the 100th day! Very frustrating that they won’t travel from my phone to my computer. All suggestions are welcome. 🙂
I saw this quote this morning…
“Before a child talks, they sing.
Before they write, they draw.
As soon as they stand, they dance.
Art is fundamental to human expression.”

We have had a great day, celebrating the 100th Day of Kindergarten!!
I took quite a few pictures but they have not come up yet on my computer. I’ll post them on Monday when they pop up.
We also had fun with Science, building a shelter for our “bear” to protect him from harsh weather (our science unit.) I enjoyed seeing their creations and watching their problem solving skills in a situation. Some clever thinkers in here!
Here’s a look at next week…
READING- Penguins After learning about Penguins we will compare them to Polar Bears and then contrast them to Polar Bears. Critical thinking skills in action.
WRITING-Informational about Penguins
SPELLING-We will work with the am chunk. jam (watch where that “j” goes below the line).bam ram cram slam he she you= 8 words for the week
PHONICS-Rhyming Words…always fun!
SOCIAL STUDIES-Geography and how do we learn about the past? What do we use to learn about the past?
PTA is sponsoring the Book Fair. Information/flyer went home yesterday. If you can offer your time to help out in the Book Fair, I know it would be appreciated.
Thanks for all you do on the home front. It always shows!!
Have a good weekend.

Here’s a typical day’s agenda for us in here. Just thought you’d be interested in a typical day for us.
I am so very happy to be back and on regular reading group schedule. I enjoy my time with each student, listening to them read, choosing their favorite book to read to me and why they chose that book, finding out special thoughts, dreams, wishes, that they have…even concerns. My kids are becoming such great readers and thinkers. I’m so proud of them.

Good Morning. I hope you enjoyed your long weekend! With all of these snow/ice/cold days, my house has never been cleaner. As some of you know, I am also on staff at our church as director of Handbell Choirs and even my office there is so organized, labeled, music all filed away, etc! With all of these 3 or 4 day weeks, I’m hoping that next week I can finally teach for the entire week!
I forgot to include in last week’s blog about this Friday. This Friday, Feb. 22, will be our 100th Day of Kindergarten! We are 100 days smarter. 🙂 Students are invited to dress up as a 100 year old person. anything you have at home will be perfect…please don’t go out and buy anything special. Just enjoy the celebration of being 100 days smarter.
Have a good week.
