Week of November 6, 2017

Look at this year…flying by!  We are already into November!

Next week will bring us…

READING-Unit 2, Week 3  “Getting Along”  Stories and writing about Friends Getting Along, how we can be of help, etc.

Remember to complete the Book It Reading Log every night.  Record the title on the back of the calendar.  The kids are excited about earning a free pizza!

WRITING-Informational  I am going to tie this writing into our SCIENCE UNIT about WEATHER.

LETTERS AND WORDS-ALL students should know our sight words.  Look back on my previous BLOGS to find the words.   10 words so far.  Remember to check for Capital letters at the beginning of sentences.  For example, using the word “the” will be capitalized if it is the first word of a sentence.

The store is open.  or  I can go to the store.

MATH-We will be orally creating, drawing, and writing “number stories.”  You may remember them as “story problems.”  Another opportunity for reading and writing!  This is another example of how important reading is in our every day life.

SCIENCE-Weather   We started a WEATHER GRAPH.  So far, we have 1 cloudy day, 1 rainy day, and 1 sunny day filled in on our graph.

Our days continue to be filled with happiness and excitement in here.  On a personal note-I have a former Kindergarten student, now in Middle school,  who is in the hospital for her 31st surgery.  I always go to be with her when she is in the hospital and being with her always reminds me of how grateful we are for good health.  I know you parents feel the same way.

Have a beautiful weekend.
