WRITING-We will be making a writing/math book about 5 Valentines.

MATH-Story problems with 5      5 + 7   5  + 4   + 6    The number should be in their head and they should practice “counting on from 5,” and not having to go all the way back to 1.

SCIENCE-We will continue with LAND FORMS.  They are really enjoying this area of Earth Science.

I thought you might enjoy seeing your little ones in Centers this afternoon.  Math and Literacy are going on while I help with final Publishing of this week’s writing, which by the way, was FANTASTIC!!!  Wow

They were to choose 2 animal characters and the characters were to have a conversation.

First animal asked a question.  Need a capital letter at the beginning, spaces between words, and a question mark at the end.  Also, ready for it…“Quotation marks!!”

Second character answers with same capital letter, spaces, period, and quotation marks.  Lots of practice and scaffolding occurred and they got it.  I am very proud of their writing.

Take a peek.  Can you find your little ones? (I do have 5 out this afternoon.)

Hadi made an American Flag on the Geo Board

Isabella, Dena, and Laila make numbers with 10 rods and 1’s.

Maya, Houda, Nevaeh, Sarah, Noor, and Madleen create words using magnetic letters.

Evelyn is putting numbers in order.

Remember that Tuesday is St. Valentine’s Day.  Students may bring Valentines fro their classmates.
