NO PARADE

It’s official…NO PARADE

PARADE UPDATE!!

Apparently some “opinions” have been misinterpreted as “fact.”  Unfortunately a decision has NOT been made regarding the parade.  Stay tuned…we hope to have a decision by 12:30

No Parade today

Rain has forced Parade cancellation.  Hope you have better weather for tonight!

Halloween!!

Halloween is here and lots of excitement will be here too!

Reminder that students are to bring their costumes to school in a bag.  After lunch I will help them get ready or you may pick up your student at 11:20 and take them home for lunch and costume.  Our All School Parade will begin at 1:15 so have your child back by 1:00.  The parade is short…the time it would take all the students to walk around the track.  Parents are invited to watch the parade (bring your camera…we’re pretty cute!).  After the parade I will bring in the students for the rest of the afternoon.  Dismissal is regular time.

Have fun tonight with your child.  I will be thinking about them.

Homework

The students were given a homework assignment last night and it was due today.

I started it in class with them and THEY knew what to do.  The paper is orange and has 4 letters at the top. M m  A a  S s  P p.  Many students completed their assignment but several are missing.  Please make sure they complete the homework tonight and turn it in tomorrow.  I told them to do their homework and immediately put it in their backpack.  Then they will be all set in the morning.  Both completing assignments and having the student put their homework in the backpack themselves teaches responsibility and are good school/study habits.

Thank you.

Tuesday

Last week I introduced Literacy Centers.  I made 9 different centers, each one having something to do with Reading, Listening, and Writing.  I divided them into groups and rotated the students through the 9 Centers.  I knew they would LOVE them and they did.  They ask every day for Literacy Centers.  It takes several days to get all the students through 9 centers so we will finish with the last round this morning.  Here is a look at Literacy Centers.  See if you can find your little one!

Please practice reading, writing, and spelling our words every night!  Even though I write with the students every day, many still do not know how to write (or spell with magnetic letters) words from past weeks.  Words that they should know are…

I  Can  can  Am  am  The  the  We  we

and this week’s word like.

Please continue focusing on sounds and letters too.  This helps with reading and writing.

I forgot to mention that the Scholastic Book Orders are due this Wed., 10/22.
