A short week!  I am still going to fit 5 days worth of instruction into 2 days LOL!

In short…

December Reading logs are due.  I will accept them on Monday also.

READING-We started a new unit.  Our theme is ANIMALS.  This week’s Unit is Animals All Around.

WRITING-easy!  Since I have been writing with my kids since day 1 in Kindergarten, they already know so many words.  This week’s letter is “O  o”  and the word is “Is  is.”

FYI…Beginning January 27, the district will be implementing a new Spelling Curriculum for Kindergarten.  Students will work on certain “chunks” each week.  More later.

MATH-Subtraction story problems and Non-standard measuring.

SOCIAL STUDIES-Needs and Wants/Goods and Services

sharing, trading, etc

SCIENCE-Weather…I have to teach weather with all of what’s going on outside!

Miss Jordet (former Kindergarten student of mine, now doing her Student Teaching in Elementary Ed.)Pete stool made a Christmas present for me (I think it’s really for my kids :)).  Have a look!  We LOVE our new Pete!!

Welcome Back!!!  What a crazy weather way to start the New Year!  I can’t wait to see all of my kids and hear about their days.

Please dress your child appropriately—it’s still very cold outside.  It was -4 this morning as I was driving to school.  Brrr

Lunch menu has changed for the next few days.

Friday-Sac-n-go

Monday 1-14 Chicken Nuggets

Tuesday-Hot dog

Wednesday-Spaghetti

Thursday-Bosco Sticks

Needless to say, my lesson plans have changed for this week.  I’ll post later what we’ll be doing.  Need to get ready for my kids.
