The O.L Smith students have now gone on to their 6th mystery call. Our unknown callers are in Eastern Europe. After several questions asked, the Smith students found that the callers are from Russia. The students from Russia discovered that we are from North America. The Smith students showed the students from Russia the “About Us” slide show. The Russia students said that they do get snow just like us in Michigan. The students from Russia had seemed to relate to some of the things mentioned in the slide show. The students from Russia also had a presentation for the Smith students to view. One of the slide shows presented was about the holidays celebrated in Russia. There are several holidays celebrated including “Victory Day.” This day celebrates the day when the Allied Forces claimed victory in WWII.

The interviewers from O.L. Smith guessed Lithuania and were incorrect, even though we were almost certain that that was right. They ended up being from Russia, when we guessed that they are in the Northern Hemisphere. The russian students are learning about our top 10 slide show about our attractions and people in Michigan. The russian students showed us the slideshow about their culture and their everyday lives, but mostly the food. They showed a second slideshow about all of the holidays in their country. There is a lot, including a “Defender of the Fatherland day” which I think is very cool. There was another slideshow just about the celebrities in their country, like Vladmir Putin, their president.
