Reading
This week we will focus on finding the main idea (what the text is mostly about) and key details that support or explain the main idea in informational text. Complete the assigned i-Ready lesson.

Directions: This week for writing we will be practicing identifying main ideas and key details. You have one story to read, complete a chart for and then write a written response. The story and the directions are on a google slide for you to complete. This is a writing assignment not a reading assignment so there is also a video of Mr. Duering reading the story for you if you need it.

Directions: This week I would like to hear from you! For writing Please Write 1 reflective email about last week’s online learning and send it to me. Please watch the video Mr. Duering created that has directions about sending an e-mail and has sentence stems for what should be in the email. This is just like the reflective journal we have been doing in class. Write a one paragraph email about your experience last week with online classes. What you liked, struggled with or needed help with. Make sure your spelling and punctuation are correct and you send the email to your teacher.

Week of April 13-17
Welcome back!! We hope that everyone enjoyed the break. As you may have heard the Governor ended the in class instruction for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. However, we will continue with our online learning until June 14th. It’s very important that you continue to check the blog daily and complete the assigned work. Under the governor’s new order and the districts plan the work will be graded. If for any reason, you don’t have access to a computer or internet please notify me immediately. We will try to work something out when possible. If you have any questions or concerns please email me at sleimaw@deabornschools.org I will check it daily and respond within 24 hours.
Reading: Please continue to complete 45 minutes a week on i-Ready. Your teachers have assigned two lessons for this week (Determining word meaning using context clues 4 and Determining word mean using context clues 5). Completing these two lessons will give you the needed minutes, the goal is to pass the lessons at least 70%.
Math: Zearn lessons should be completed to Lesson 19. I urge parents to also have students visit Khan Academy. Please continue to work on computation nightly. Our focus is division. Students all have division cards in their math bags. If not those can be purchased from a dollar store.

Social Studies: A PowerPoint has been posted for this week that focuses on the Powers of the Federal Government. Please review the slides and complete the Google Form Quiz when you are done.
Writing:What is a fun activity that you have done with your family? Maybe you went somewhere? Maybe you did something at home? Think about what happened to make the event fun. Describe when and where this happened. Describe all the people there with you. Explain why this was a fun family activity. Complete this on google doc and submit it to your teacher by Friday.
