Family Science Night

Family Science Night

Dear Snow Families,

We are very excited to bring to Snow Elementary School our 4th Annual Family Science Night!  It will take place on Thursday, January 26th 6:00-7:30 p.m.  The evening will begin in the gym with a “Wacky Science” presentation by Scheer Magic Productions.  This will begin at 6:00 p.m. sharp, so please plan accordingly.  After the assembly, you and your family will have time to walk around the school to see the wonderful science projects that the students have accomplished.   We invite you to celebrate our success and support your student’s science skill development.

Sincerely,

The Science Fair Committee & Snow PTA

Wayne County Regional Enhancement Education Millage Proposal

School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”

If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools.  Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years.  Continue reading

ADHD

October is ADHD awareness month. Today, Mr. Evens, the occupational therapist for Snow, came into our classroom to discuss ADHD. Mr. Evens explained what ADHD is and how we can all work together to help students who may have ADHD. He explained how students with ADHD try very hard to perform their best and just little a little extra help and understanding. He’s lecture is a great way to promote ADHD awareness and encourage empathy and helpfulness.
