Dear Snow Families,

Snow School is launching a Read at Home Plan.  With our new Book Room, every Snow student will go home with “Good Fit” Books daily! “Good fit” books are books that are not too hard and not too easy.  The expectation is that students improve their reading skills and develop a love for reading.

• Reading Book Bags will go home daily with “Good Fit” Books

• Students must read daily:

• Grades (K-1) 15+ minutes daily

• Grades (2-5) 30+ minutes daily

• Reading Logs- Signed daily by parents and   checked by teachers.

Please save the Boxtops for Education stickers found on many products.  Our class could receive a popcorn party if they collect the most boxtops in the school.  Each boxtop earns 10 cents for the school.  Make sure they are not expired.  Place them into a clear zipped bag.  Write the Mrs. Slater on the bag.  If there are 50 in the bag, mark that as well and we will automatically receive an extra 10 points.  Due date is October 20, 2017.

The deadline for ordering Snow School spiritwear shirts and sweatshirts is Friday, September 29, 2017.  On line ordering is also available at HTTPS://SNOW2017.ITEMORDER.COM.  Samples of each of the shirts is on display in the office.  These items are great for school events.

Students will be tested every Friday.  Spelling words will be sent home on Monday.  They will have weekly spelling homework using these words.  Please make sure you sign and return the test booklet on Monday.

• 5 dolch sight words on the list

I would like to thank all of the families who attended Open House. I enjoyed meeting everyone. I also enjoyed seeing so many families from past classes who came back to say hello. I look forward to another wonderful year!

Open House is Thursday, September 14, 2017, from 6:00 – 7:30.  I can’t wait to meet all of my new students’ families!

Hello, Snow School Community!!!!

Field Day 2017 is Friday, June 9.  We still have room available for volunteers if you have some time to help out.  The link to Sign Up Genius is https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a4bacad22a7f94-snow1

Kindergarten through second grade, and MOCI students, will enjoy the morning games, 9 am-11 am.  Third through fifth grade students will have an afternoon Field Day, 1 pm-3 pm.  Everyone will have their normal lunch time.

Field Day t-shirts are due in Thursday– close!!, due to the new computerized printing system at the company we used.  If you ordered a shirt and it doesn’t come home Thursday, students will get them Friday morning and can change into them at school.  If shirts weren’t ordered students can wear any Snow Spirit Wear or any school appropriate shirt.

 We are asking everyone to bring a water bottle, names on them please, which can be refilled at our rest station.  Students are welcome to bring a snack and fruit will be available at the water/rest station.
