Welcome back to a new year of learning!
I would like to thank all of the families who attended Open House. I enjoyed meeting everyone. I also enjoyed seeing so many families from past classes who came back to say hello. I look forward to another wonderful year!
Parents and Students of Snow School: Our 2016 Clean Up Parade is Thursday, May 26. Our event starts at 9:30 am

The shirts are $5 each.) Please come out and support us as we share our message: “Fix Up, Clean Up, Paint Up, Plant Up!” Our route is Culver to Snow Road, Snow Road to Houston, Houston back to Snow School. There will be a short ceremony in the front of the school and you are welcome to attend. Thanks, hope to see you out there cheering us on! Thanks- City Beautiful and STAND
Warm Weather Dress Code Reminders
Now that warmer weather is here, please be aware that the Dearborn Schools Student Code of Conduct requires that student clothing should be “modest and avoid distracting influences.”
For your child’s safety and comfort, we ask that students wear shoes that are appropriate for running and playing on the playground instead of flip flops. Please also refrain from allowing students to wear shirts with spaghetti straps and we ask that girls wear shorts under their skirts or dresses.
Thanks!

We will be celebrating the “100th day” of school on Thursday, February 11th. I will be providing many “100” activities throughout the morning. We will also be having a Valentine celebration on Thursday in the afternoon. Your child may bring a wrapped treat to share and Valentine cards for their 20 classmates. A list of classmates went home last week.
A math chapter 4 study guide will be sent home on Monday. Please go over it with them. I think this may be the easiest test they will have this year. Test will be on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Just a reminder, our Music concert is on Wednesday, December 16th at 6:00pm. Please drop children off in our classroom at 5:45pm. Mr. Stinson said they can wear what they like.
We are also focusing on the First Thanksgiving . We will be feasting and creating a Thanksgiving treat on Tuesday at 2:00 in the cafeteria. We do have a Leader in Me assembly at 1:30, so we are hoping to be in the cafeteria as close to 2:00 as possible. If you can volunteer to help serve soup, please let me know! We will be making the soup in the morning, so please make sure you send your feast donation by Tues. morning.
Congratulations go to Ryan Ridgeway and Abdulrhman Alkirsh for making good choices and using good manners during lunch in the month of October. They were chosen to eat pizza at the VIP table.
