All Hands On Deck! Congratulations! We have sailed through First Grade together and we kept our ship afloat! All of our crew members have grown, learned the ropes and they are ready to venture into Second Grade! A special thank you to Mrs. Moslemani for taking over the command in my absence! I am still on the life boat following all of your progress and getting stronger each day. Thank you to all of my crew and their parents for your dedication and perseverance. It has been quite an adventure! Remember: A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Mothers, Grandmothers, Foster Mothers, Aunts, and to all the ladies in my student’s lives. Your hard work, patience and perseverance during these trying times is commendable! Enjoy this day with your families! I hope to see you all soon!

The contest will be held on Epic Books. Every Friday, classroom teachers will submit the total minutes read on Epic (for the week) for their class. I will also submit the student in my class with the highest number of minutes using the Epic reading site for the week. The top 2 winning classes will be awarded gift cards each week. The top two student readers in the school will be awarded fitbits each week.
Last week Yousef Aun was one of the top 2 readers in Snow School! He won a fitbit. Our class won second place in class totals and we won a $25 gift card to Five Below.
This week, 13 students participated in reading on Epic. Our top reader this week was Yousef Aun with a total of 833 minutes. Second was Isaac Harp with 533 minutes. Third was Everly Schiltz with 351 minutes of reading! Our class total was 2535 minutes of reading! It is important that we use the Epic reading site all month to read, so that our class earns many minutes!
