This article explains why there are changes this Thursday and Friday (March 4-5) and next Thursday and Friday (March 11-12) in the hybrid schedule. Students will be coming into school in person only on Monday and Tuesday for two weeks.

Schedule for the week

Supplies to bring to school

Students will need to bring 5 things in their backpack:

1. Student blue plastic take home folder

2. Student bookbag

3. Learn math book

4. Practice math book

5. Green folder with the Benchmark Unit 7 Week 1 packet with booklet.

Also, Lunch menus are found on the Dearborn schools home page each week.

This week, first choice is halal hamburger, tater tots, peaches or apple, carrots, and chocolate milk.

Second choice is sun butter and jelly sandwich with all of the above choices.

Students may bring a lunch if they wish. We also eat a healthy snack in the afternoon. Water bottles are encouraged as well.

MONDAY

Group B students will zoom with me at 8:40 to get their assignments to work from home for the day. They will also be zooming with Music and Art teachers for their first time live classes on Monday and Tuesday.

Group A students will meet me on the blacktop in front of the office on Culver St. at 9:35. When the weather is bad, students will be allowed to stand inside the building by their classroom. No parents will be allowed inside the building. Dismissal is 2:20 outside same door.

A list of Group A and Group B students is in a folder in Schoology if you are not sure which group your child is in.

TUESDAY

The above schedule is switched. Group A will zoom with me at 8:40 to get assignments, and Group B will come into school for in person learning from 9:40-2:20.

WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY

All students will zoom at 8:40-2:20 with Mrs. Slater.

March is Reading Month

Reading Contest

The contest will be held on Epic Books. Every Friday, classroom teachers will submit the total minutes read on Epic (for the week) for their class. I will also submit the student in my class with the highest number of minutes using the Epic reading site for the week. The top 2 winning classes will be awarded gift cards each week. The top two student readers in the school will be awarded fitbits each week. It is important that we use the Epic reading site all month to read, so that our class earns many minutes!

Guest Readers

We will have many guest readers, virtually, this month! Some are scheduled and some are surprise guests! Have fun with the activities on the calendar! Read, Read, Read!!

Let’s have a great week as we begin back to school learning!
