Second Quarter Journey Begins! Week 10, November 2-6

We have completed our first quarter!

We are beginning Benchmark Unit 2, Week 2 learning packet this week. Please continue working in the October activities packet for additional learning. I will collect these packets hopefully when children return to school soon!

Tuesday, November 3, is Election Day. There is no school for students on this day. Teachers have professional development scheduled.

Due to the rise in Covid-19 cases in Dearborn, I have been advised by my administration to suspend my in person learning labs until further notice. They will be cancelled this week. No cases have been identified in our building or with any of my students. I will still be meeting with my students during learning lab times virtually on zoom at the times scheduled for the in person labs.

Fall conferences are scheduled for November 5, 10, and 17. The sign-up for them are below. Please sign up with your child’s first and last name. Let me know if you need a translator.

Schedule for November 2-6

Epic Books

Over 2000 books have been read on Epic books by my students since we began school! This has totaled over 203 hours of reading! I am so proud of my students! Remember, if you want to read into the evening (after 4:00pm) on Epic books you need to respond to the email invite that I sent to you. This will allow you to read a selection of books for free in the evening. Epic books is usually only free during school hours. Let me know if you need me to resend the invitation to you. Many students are not reading the assigned books that are found in their mailbox at the top of the page. Students receive credit for reading these books or videos that I assign to them. Terrance and Hassan have hit the 100 books read level. Isaac has read over 24 total hours! Great job! Keep on reading!

Zearn and I-Ready

Please remember to do 15 minutes on Zearn and I-Ready every day! I am monitoring the times and lessons completed each week. Some students are not regularly doing their lessons on these sites.

Keep on Learning!
