Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful break!  I missed all of the kids so it was great seeing their faces again on Monday.   The students continue to work hard on their reading skills.  This week we did many literacy activities based off of the the book The Snowy Day.  Check out the link below for some great tips on what families can do to support their child’s reading skills.

Fun with Fordson Friends!

Posted on

On Friday, students from the Diversity Club cam to spend time with our students.  We decorated cupcakes, painted faces, and song songs.  The Fordson students were also very generous and had gifts for all of the students in the class. Everyone was appreciative of the time we were able to spend together.  Thank you very much, Fordson friends!

Dearborn’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

Posted on

Come to the Dearborn Performing Arts Center tonight, December 3rd, for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! Abdullah Mohamed, from our class, will be helping Mayor O’Reilly, Jr. light the tree.  There is no cost for the event.  The Dearborn Youth Symphony will begin playing holiday music at 6pm.  At about 6:40, Abdullah and the mayor will light the tree. Afterwards, there will be a sing-a-long, cookies, coffee, and hot chocolate and a visit with Santa.  We hope to see you there!
