Dear Parents and Families,

This week, we are starting our Decimals unit in Math. We are going to try to move quickly to get as much done before the break. Please be sure to talk to your child about what we are doing in math, and use their homework to “quiz” them at night. Also, be sure to continue to practice multiplication math facts with them. Our 4th grade tournament is this Friday! We will find out who our representative is this week!

In Science, we are beginning our Earth, Moon, Sun Unit. The kids are very excited about this and have a lot of great questions!

In social studies, we have been talking about the Underground Railroad and what it meant for immigration in the United States and migration to Michigan.

In language arts, the students will be taking their second SRI test before break. I will let you know about their growth from the beginning of the year. Remember, at this point in the school year, we want the kids to be around 4.0 for their grade level. Please continue to encourage your child to read every night at home. This is very important in their growth as a reader and writer!!

Thanks,

Mrs. Shupe
