Midweek update

I apologize for not updating yet this week! With Remind and Classroom Dojo, I’ve been having great communication with all of the families, so I got behind on the blog.

Here is an update of what’s happening this week in class.

Halloween is Friday, and like I said on the Remind App, no baked goods, but wrapped candy is allowed. Per our district and the national initiatives, we will not be eating sweets in class. Costumes can be brought to school, but not worn all day. We will change into them after lunch and the parade starts at 2:00.

Math: We are taking our unit test on Friday. The Unit that we are wrapping up includes addition, subtraction, comparing numbers, expanded, word, and standard form of numbers, and line plots with data.

Science: We are continuing on with the states of matter unit this week and next week.

Social Studies: The district Common Assessment is on Friday. This will be a paper/pencil test, where usually it is a computer test. Due to technical difficulties, the social studies common assessment will not be computer until next unit.

Writing: Our new writing unit is informational. We’ve researched a specific region of the USA and will be putting it together into an informational essay.

I hope everyone has a great week! And Happy Halloween!!!
