Thank you for all of the wonderful cards from students for Teacher Appreciation Week.  It is my pleasure to be your child’s teacher this year:)

M-Step testing for 4th grade continues this week.  We will be testing on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings.  Please make sure your child goes to bed early, eats a healthy breakfast, arrives to school on time, and brings a snack and water bottle to class.

Thank you for all of the well wishes after I hurt myself last Monday from falling in class after school.  I am doing much better today, just still very sore.  The students were so caring and helpful last week.  I appreciate all of their kindness.

Thank you to all of the families that brought in Box Tops for our contest.  We will wait to hear from the PTA who the winning class is.

Reminder that the Snow School Carnival is Friday, May 19th.

ABC Countdown donations

The annual ABC Countdown will begin on May 10th.  A list of each day’s activities will be sent home soon.

ABC Countdown

This year, Snow Elementary will celebrate another great year of learning by counting down the last 26 days of the school year with 26 special activities!

 

Please read through the activities and their descriptions as some days have your child wearing certain clothing and/or bringing items to class.  Participation is not required but we hope that everyone will join in this celebration in some way over the next couple of weeks.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s teacher.  Thank you!

 

Date Activity Description
May 10 Animal Day Bring a small stuffed animal to class.
May 11 Beach Day

Bring your flip-flops, sunglasses and beach towel.

(Remember that you need proper shoes for the playground and gym class.)

May 12 Cookie Day We’ll enjoy a cookie treat!
May 15 Dress Your Best Day All students are encouraged to dress up in nice clothes. Ex. Girls dresses Boys ties
May 16 Extra Recess Day We will have one extra recess today.
May 17 Flag Day

Wear Support our troop and dress in RED,WHITE, and BLUE we will write a letter to a soldier

May 18 Game Day

Bring a board game from home to teach others.

(NO electronic games, please.)

May 19 Hat Day Wear your favorite hat all day long.
May 22 Ice Cream Day We’ll enjoy an ice cream treat!
May 23 Jam Day Pump up the jam!  Bring your favorite CD so we can rock out to some music! (CD subject to teacher approval.)
May 24 Krispy Kreme Day We’ll devour a delicious donut!
May 25 Lollipop Day We’ll lick some lollipops today.
May 30 Mismatch Day All students will wear clothes that don’t match.  
May 31 No Homework Day Enjoy a night of NO homework
June 1 Off With Your Shoes Take off your shoes the last hour of the day!  (Socks required)
June 2 Pajama Day All students will wear their pajamas  
June 5 Quiet Day Enjoy some extra silence! The QUIET GAME, so nice!
June 6 Rock Star Day Dress up as a ‘Rock Star!’ “Rock Out All Day!”
June 7 Silly Sock/Shoe Day Wear your craziest socks and shoes!
June 8 Tie-dye Day Wear anything you have that’s tie-dyed.
June 9 Uniform Day Wear a ‘uniform’ to school. This could include a career or a sports, ballet, dance, etc. uniform.
June 12 Video Day We’ll watch a video.
June 13 Wacky, Wild Hair Day Who will have the wildest hair-do today?!

Teacher Appreciation Week at Snow

From the PTA:  Monday, May 1 – Friday, May 5

In honor of the amazing teachers and staff at Snow Elementary, we are putting together a luncheon for Wed., May 3 along with fantastic gifts for them.  We also put together the list below, for ways your child can show their appreciation to their teacher and staff members during that week.

MONDAY:  Wear your teacher’s favorite color – (purple/pink)

TUESDAY: Bring you teacher their favorite snack/treat – (Almond Joy, Reese’s Peanut Butter cups, nuts)

WEDNESDAY: Wear something from their favorite sports team – hat, shirt, jersey, etc. – (Michigan Wolverines, Detroit Tigers)

THURSDAY:  Bring in something helpful for the class – pencil, marker, eraser, scissors, etc. – (pencils, dry erase markers, sticky notes, paper clips, glue sticks)

FRIDAY: Write them a thank you note.
