Pennies for Pasta donations will continue through November 24th.  The students in our class have done a great job so far of bringing in donations for a great cause.

Please make sure that your child is returning all of their homework on time.  If your child has been absent, all missed work will be put in their mailboxes to be completed at home and turned in as soon as possible.

Reading Bags go home every TUESDAY.  Students are supposed to read the assigned book at home and complete the related assignment.  Reading Bags with the book and assignment MUST be returned on MONDAY.  If students do not return their Reading Bags on time, you will not receive your new book on Tuesday.  Last week’s assignment was to read the book and answer the 3 questions at the back of the book in complete sentences.  Students will receive new books tomorrow and will have to answer the 3 questions at the back of the book in complete sentences.  Grades will be lowered if answers are not written in sentences.

The third grade classes will be going on a field trip to the Henry Ford Museum on Friday, December 11th.  Permission slips are coming home today.  The cost is $8.00 per student/chaperone.  We will need chaperones for this trip.  All interested chaperones must have a current background check on file in the office at least 10 days prior to the trip.  Please make sure your background check is up to date in the office if you are interested in attending.  If you have a membership to the Henry Ford, you do not need to pay the admission fee.  You will need to show your card and identification for admittance.  Students will need to bring a packed lunch from home for the day of the field trip.  We plan to leave on the bus at 9:15 a.m. and return at 2:30 p.m.  Due to limited space on the bus, all parents will have to drive separately.  There is a fee of $5.00 per car for parking, so car-pooling is recommended.

Thank you to the parents who already attended Parent-Teacher Conferences last Thursday.  I look forward to seeing the rest of the families this coming Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Just a reminder that this coming Wednesday, November 18th is a Late Start.

Students have a S.S. quiz on Tuesday.  A study guide was sent home last Friday.  See the blog for a copy of the study guide if your child did not bring it home or lost it.

Thank you to the Hnatiuk family for donating markers to our classroom!
