Henry Ford Collegiate Academy Orientation

Congratulations to our next HFCA cohort.  There are 137 students taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity to earn their diploma and an associate degree in five years (not six) provided by Dearborn Public Schools at no cost to the parent.  An orientation was held on Monday morning, August 21st from 9-11am on the college campus.  Mrs. Peterson, Ms. Kobeissi, Mr. Gothro, Ms. Saad, Ms. Stevens and team, provided information and campus tours.

Early Literacy Games at Crowley Park

In cooperation with the Dearborn Parks and Recreation summer playground programs, first grade teacher, Miss Peterson, spent the morning engaging children in early literacy games at Crowley park.  Students aged 4-8 years old engaged in a variety of games involving reading and sight word recognition.

Standing Room Only at the Collegiate Academy Informational Meeting

On July 20th, we held an informational meeting for all students who received the letter inviting them to be a part of the Henry Ford Collegiate Academy.  At 6:20pm we had to grab as many extra chairs as possible.  There were over 130 people in attendance and standing room only.

Mr. Fadlallah, Mrs. Peterson and Ms. Gail Welmers (counselor at Edsel) shared information and answered questions until all were satisfied.

Congratulations to all students who qualified for this scholarship.

Bryant Middle School Science Fair is a Success!

The 2017 Bryant science fair was a huge success! With almost 200 participants on an almost 90 degree day, the community turned out to celebrate science phenomena, experiments, and inventions. 8th grade students Charlie Frank and Kyle Pfeiffer took first and second place, while 7th grade students Lucas Tafelski and Brecken Furlow took third. Special thanks to PTA member Hebat Abdelbaki for organizing awards, food, and decorations.  Thank you to Mrs. Farkas, Ms. Murphy, Ms. Duquette,  Mr. Bailey, Mr. Peterson and Ms. Dagher, for their time, effort and support.
