This is a great read for both math teachers and parents.  What we thought of as adequate math instruction is challenged using current, brain research.  This book challenges us to rethink math instruction so our children realize mathematics is all about a set of ideas, connections and relationships we can use to make sense of the world.  Gone are the days of giving isolated problems to practice.  We need to help students think and apply problem-solving skills to find solutions to real-world problems.  Everyone can do this with engaging instruction and support!  This book is easy to read and full of the brain research and ideas to implement!
