Parent Teacher Conferences

Last Thursday we had a great Parent Teacher Conferences turn out where parents and students came to discuss how to work together to maximize the their  learning.

This coming Wednesday 11/18 and Thursday 11/ 19 we have the rest of the PTC.  Please ask your child to give you the reminder notes coming home Monday.  Try your best to come at your scheduled time.

I understand emergencies happen in life which leads to not attending the PTC, however if you are unable to make it, contact me through email shakara@dearbornschools.org or call the school to reschedule at 827-1700.  It is very important we meet to discuss ways to improve your child’s reading and math level.

Look what’s new! Frontrowed

Hi all,

I just started using Front Row (an adaptive and interactive site) to help students get their own unique math practices.  We will practice our math skills using this and other sites.  Therefore, at home, it would be SUPER beneficial if your child practices the required skills every night for 10-15 minutes.  This is an interactive site that motivates and adapts to the student’s level, and allows me to monitor their daily practice and generate progress reports.  Your child will feel successful every time he/she practices.  Go ahead and explore this cool site, and before starting this adventure, please set some rules so it will be worth your child’s time.  I hope my students will enjoy using Front Row 🙂

Here are some directions and class code needed to start: (you will also find a short cut and direction if you go under math sites)

https://student.frontrowed.com/#login

Directions:

  1. Students enter their first and last name on the first line
  2. Enter class code: dtqcwt
  3. Take a diagnostic test first
  4. Take the test seriously because it adapts the practices according to the diagnostic test.
