Weekly Objectives

Good Morning,

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the nice and cool fall.

Homework:
We celebrated our first Homework Club Reward together with a yummy donuts from Tim Horton. All students who had three or less strikes were invited to the celebration. It was an outstanding 100% participation.
You are an important part of your child’s success, so thanks to you too.
Just a reminder that both reading and math homework must be present to count. If either one is missing, students receive a strike and a survey to complete (three strikes only allowed per month). In addition, late homework must be completed and returned the next day.

Science:
Students will participate in a science exploration to explain how changing the force on an object affects it’s motion through making a hypothesis, collecting data, and explaining their results to class.

Key Vocabulary:
Force-a push or pull
Motion-changing position
Distant-the amount an object changes position
Gravity-force that pulls objects toward Earth
Friction-force that goes against the motion of an object

Note: If a student is absent on Monday, he/she must make sure to take their spelling list from their absent folder on their desks. Sometimes things get busy on Mondays and the responsible helper/ or I forget to place a spelling list, please remind them to get one from me as soon as possible and to copy the content words. I appreciate your help!

Fluency:
I sent the Fluency pink folder home last week! I am so excited to report that most of the class completed reading Monday-Thursday and answered the comprehension question on the back. Couple of students had an incomplete. Please have your son/daughter practice reading with understanding and time them for one minute for each attempt. Fluency tests are given weekly.
