NWEA Tests (Science/Language):
Monday 4/24 Science
Friday 4/28 Language
- Third graders will take the state test from May 9th-May 19. We will start with ELA first week and Math the following week. Please encourage your son/daughter to take a few minutes a day to practice reading and math M-Step.
- M-Step practice for reading and math might replace paper homework (somedays). Students had practiced how to log into their accounts on the DPS website to practice the M-Step. Please have your child practice few questions each day. Also, M-Step practice will be assigned from the test practice booklets (Math/Reading). In addition, students will receive paper homework to have extra practice at home. Please assist them if they need any help. Thanks!
Spelling: List #22 skill – Contractions (not, are, have, is, will)
Spelling Test: Friday
Reading:
~20-30 minutes – Record minutes on April logs please. Also, Mobymax, Myon, M-Step (ilearn) reading can be used towards the 30 minutes of reading .
~Reading: RI 3.9 Compare and contrast two texts.
Language Arts Quiz: Monday #27 (students take the weekly language review on Friday to study). The Weekly LA review is their study guide for the Monday quiz.
Writing: Compare and contrast information between texts and across subject areas. Students will need to: Recognize (similarities and differences of plot across literary works) ,describe (similarities and differences of plot across literary works) , compare (information between texts and across subject areas) ,contrast (information between texts and across subject areas)
Fluency: Due Monday
Story of the Week: a new prompt will be sent home today. We love how the students are expressing themselves through this free write.

Math:
Unit 8-We are focusing on fractions. Students may practice skills daily for a few minutes on the M-Step practice on ilearn DPS website, and Frontrow.
Math Review Quiz:# 26 Friday(students will take week #26 home Thursday to study)
Snacks: Thanks for providing your child a healthy snack. The students really enjoy them!
