Weekly Updates

Greetings,

Welcome back to all of our families and students. 🙂 I hope you had a relaxing and wonderful break with your friends and families.

Important Dates

No School Friday, April 14th

NWEA Tests (Math/Reading): Monday 4/17 and Friday4/21

 

  • M-Step: Third graders will take the state test from April 9th-April 19. We will start with ELA first week and Math the following week.  Please encourage your son/daughter to take a few minutes a day to practice reading and math M-Step. Please monitor the time they are on the computer so they won’t over stress themselves about testing.
  • M-Step practice for reading and math might replace paper homework. Students had practiced how to log into their accounts on the DPS website to practice the M-Step.  Please have your child practice few questions each day.:)

Spelling:  List #21 skill – i before e except after c

Spelling Test: Thursday

Reading:

~20-30 minutes – Record minutes on April logs please. Also, Mobymax,  Myon, M-Step (ilearn) reading can be used towards the 30 minutes of reading .

~Reading: RI 3.9 Compare and contrast two texts.

 Language Arts Quiz: Monday #25 (students take the weekly language review on Friday to study).  The Weekly LA review is their study guide for the Monday quiz.

 

Writing: Compare and contrast information between texts and across subject areas. Students will need to:  compare (information between texts and across subject areas) ,contrast (information between texts and across subject areas)

 

Fluency: Due Monday
Story of the Week: a new prompt will be sent home today. We love how the students are expressing themselves through this free write.

Math:
Unit 8-We are focusing on fractions.  Students may practice skills daily for a few minutes on the M-Step practice on ilearn DPS website, and Frontrow.

Math Review Quiz:#24 Thursday (students take week 23 class review on Thursdays)

Snacks: Thanks for providing your child a healthy snack. The students really enjoy them!
