Good Morning: hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Spelling: List #11 (double consonants)
List A: egg, add, odd, apple, puppy, tennis, banner, dinner, funny, rubber
Both: bitter, collect, happen, traffic, hiccup
List B: tomorrow, different, suffer, slippers, grasshopper, worry, lettuce, current, shudder, impossible

Spelling Test: Friday
- Each week your child will add a spelling card to this collection. Please save the cards for Random Spelling Week. Students will study List A or List B for the week, depending on pretest results. All students will need to study the words in “both” section. There will be 5 content words added as well for a total of 20 words.
- Tic-Tac-Toe: Students will use the same board for the first nine weeks. They will choose three squares to complete and hand in on Friday. Have fun
Reading for 20-30 Minutes
~20-30 minutes –In addition to reading books, students may use Mobymax and any reading assignment towards the 30 minutes of reading . Log your reflections/summary in the homework page titled Reading Log.
~Reading: For the next few weeks we will be learning Informational text standards 3.1, 3.4, and 3.5
RI. 3.1 Ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of a text, referring explicitly to the text as the basis for the answers.
RI. 3.4 Determine the meaning of general academic and domain-specific words and phrases in a text relevant to a grade 3 topic or subject area.
RI. 3.5 Use text features and search tools (e.g., key words, sidebars, hyperlinks) to locate information relevant to a given topic efficiently.

Language Arts:
Students will study grammar and language review Monday-Thursday. Study guides comes home Thursday and the quiz will be on Friday. Skills include: compound subject, editing, correct phrase, and spelling.
Math:
OBJECTIVE: Place value and problem solving with units of measure.
Homework: pages will be assigned daily from the succeed book. Sometimes, homework will also be in the weekend. Quizzes and tests will be announced on Class Dojo and Planners.
Math using Technology: Zearn and Mobymax
Social Studies: History of Michigan
3- H3.0.3 Describe the causal relationships between three events in Michigan’s past (e.g., Erie Canal, statehood)
3-H3.0.5 Describe how Indians & settlers adapted to, used, & modified their environments
3-H3.0.6 Describe interactions between Indians & European settlers in Michigan
3-H3.0.9 Describe how Michigan attained statehood
3-H3.0.10 Create a timeline to sequence early Michigan history
