Week Ahead 9/23/19
Good Morning: hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Spelling: List #3 Vowel Digraphs
List A: out, cloud, count,crown, power, straw, launch, yawn, haunt, draw
Both: mouth, brown, claw, auto, haul
List B: autograph, scrawny, author, thousand, flawless, fountain, prowler, account, coward, powerful
Spelling Homework :
- Each week your child will add a spelling card to this collection. Students will study List A or List B for the week, depending on pretest results. All students will need to study the words in “both” section. There will be 5 content words added as well for a total of 20 words.
- Tic-Tac-Toe: Students will use the same board for the first nine weeks. They will choose three squares to complete and hand in on Friday. Have fun
Spelling Test: Friday
Reading for 20-30 Minutes
~20-30 minutes –In addition to reading books, students may use Mobymax, Myon, any reading assignment towards the 30 minutes of reading .
~Reading: Asking and answering questions and story elements. I am sending a reading log and reading comprehension weekly along with comprehension questions for fiction and nonfiction.
Language Arts: Students study grammar and language review Monday-Thursday. Study guide comes home Thursday and the quiz will be Friday.
Math:
We are working on multiplication and division strategies and story problems. Students will receive homework as we finish learning the lessons in class. The homework book is called Succeed. Sometimes, homework will also be in the weekend.
Also, students are encouraged to practice math skills using Zearn. They have the User Name and Password taped in their planners.
Social Studies:What is a geographer, what is a state, and what city do you live in.
Snacks: Thanks for providing your child a healthy snack. Thank you for your help and support :),
