Weekly Updates 9/16

Good Morning: hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Important Note: Friday 9/20 will be a half day. 11:10 Dismissal.

Spelling:  List #2 Vowel Teams

List A: ray, clay, waits, hoe, soak, toast, reach, bead, coin, enjoy

Both: boil, goal, beach, bait, aim

List B: approach, oboe, entertain, yesterday, rejoice, trapezoid, enjoyable, bumblebee, sweeten, peanuts

Spelling Homework :

  • Each week your child will add a spelling card to this collection.  Students will study List A or List B for the week, depending on pretest results.  All students will need to study the words in “both” section.    There will be 5 content words added as well for a total of 20 words.
  • Tic-Tac-Toe: Students will use the same board for the first nine weeks.  They will choose three squares  to complete and hand in on Friday.  Have fun πŸ™‚

Spelling Test: Friday

Reading:

~20-30 minutes –In addition to reading books, students may use  Mobymax,  Myon, any reading assignment towards  the 30 minutes of reading .

~Reading: Asking and answering questions and story elements. I am sending a reading log and reading comprehension weekly along with comprehension questions for fiction and nonfiction.

 Language Arts: Students study grammar and language review Monday-Thursday.  Study guide comes home Thursday and the quiz will be Friday.

Math:
We are working on multiplication and division strategies and story problems.  Students will receive homework as we finish learning the lessons in class.  The homework book is called Succeed.

Social Studies:What is a geographer, what is a state, and what city do you live in.

Snacks: Thanks for providing your child a healthy snack. Thank you for your help and support :),
