Good Morning: hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Spelling:  List #10 (ge or dge)

List A: cage, nudge, badge, fudge, edge, bridge, ridge, age, pledge, image

Both: sausage, smudge, voyage, judge, courage

List B: budget, drawbridge, fidget, hedgehog, knowledge, porridge, divulge, forage, message, leverage

Content Words:

Spelling Test: Friday

  • Each week your child will add a spelling card to this collection.  Please save the cards for Random Spelling Week. Students will study List A or List B for the week, depending on pretest results.  All students will need to study the words in “both” section.    There will be 5 content words added as well for a total of 20 words.
  • Tic-Tac-Toe: Students will use the same board for the first nine weeks.  They will choose three squares  to complete and hand in on Friday.  Have fun 

Reading for 20-30 Minutes

~20-30 minutes –In addition to reading books, students may use  Mobymax and any reading assignment towards the 30 minutes of reading . Log your reflections/summary in the homework page titled Reading Log.

~Reading:  For the next few weeks we will be learning Informational text standards 3.1, 3.4, and 3.5

RI. 3.1 Ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of a text, referring explicitly to the text as the basis for the answers.

RI. 3.4 Determine the meaning of general academic and domain-specific words and phrases in a text relevant to a grade 3 topic or subject area.

RI. 3.5 Use text features and search tools (e.g., key words, sidebars, hyperlinks) to locate information relevant to a given topic efficiently.

Start writing or type / to choose a block

 Language Arts: 

Students will study grammar and language review Monday-Thursday.  Study guides comes home Thursday and the quiz will be on Friday. Skills include: compound subject, editing, correct phrase, and spelling.

Math:

OBJECTIVE: Round two- and three-digit numbers to the nearest ten and hundred on the vertical number line.
Homework: pages will be assigned daily from the succeed book. Sometimes, homework will also be in the weekend. Quizzes will be announced on Class Dojo and Planners.

Math using Technology: Zearn and Mobymax

Social Studies: 3-G2 Places and Regions Understand how regions are created from common physical and human characteristics. 3 – G2.0.1 Use a variety of visual materials and data sources to describe ways in which Michigan can be divided into regions. Examples may include but are not limited to: physical features (lakes versus land), land use (forest, agriculture, urban), and political (state, county, and tribal boundaries)
