Spelling: List #20 (igh/eigh)
Spelling Test: Friday
Reading:
~20-30 minutes -or MORE for March is Reading Month- of daily reading is highly recommended. Record minutes on February logs please. Bring your logs on Fridays to count the minutes. Also, Mobymax and Myon reading can be used towards the 30 minutes reading .

Writing: Students will take a position on public issue.
Introduce the topic or text they are writing about, state an opinion, and create an organizational structure that lists reasons.
Provide reasons that support the opinion.
Use linking words and phrases (e.g., because, therefore, since, for example) to connect opinion and reasons.
Provide a concluding statement or section.
Fluency: a new fluency will be sent home today. Please have your child read the passage four times a week. Each time should include three attempts. Have them answer the questions in a complete sentence and underline their evidence in the text.

Story of the Week: a new prompt will be sent home today. We love how the students are expressing themselves through this free write.
Story of the Week: Due Monday
Math:
We are studying unit 7 (3.OA.6 and 3.OA.9). Unit 7 test is on Thursday 3/23. Students will use the study guide for review. Please help your child to continue using Mobymax and Frontrow for practice.
Math Review Quiz:#22 Friday (students take week 22 class review on Thursdays)
Social Studies standard: Identifying and Analyzing Public Issues Clearly state a problem as a public policy issue, analyze various perspectives, and generate and evaluate possible alternative resolutions.
Lesson packets are sent for home a day before for a pre-read. Please send it back so we can discuss and answer questions. Pre reading at home seems to help students further understand the lessons. It can be used later to reinforce what we learn in class. The social studies common assessment will take place on 3/29. A study guide will be sent on 3/20.
Snacks: Thanks for providing your child a healthy snack. The students really enjoy them!
