Important Notes

• WIDA : Students will be taking the Reading and Listening part of WIDA this week.
• Tuesday: Valentine’s Day cards exchange and treats (optional-please see a previous blog)

Spelling: list #16~ar&or

Reading: 20-30 minutes of daily reading is highly recommended. Record on February logs please. (Mobymax and Myon reading can be used towards the 30 minutes reading)

Writing: Students are selecting, researching, and writing about Michigan’s government related topic informational writing

Fluency: a new fluency will be sent home today. Please have your child read the passage four times a week. Each time should include three attempts. Have them answer the questions in a complete sentence and underline their evidence in the text.
Story of the Week: a new prompt will be sent home today. We love how the students are expressing themselves through this free write.
Math:
We are studying unit 6.  Geometry Common Core Standards: 3.G1, 3.G., and Fractions.
Social Studies- Government of Michigan vocabulary words: local government, national government, levels of government, legislative branch, judicial branch, executive branch. Social Studies Common Assessment is this Wednesday. Please have your child review the study guide.  

Snacks: Thanks for providing your child a healthy snack. The students really enjoy them!
