Week of December 5th
Dear Families,
Book Fair is coming to our school this week. We will not have book orders for the month of December. Students will enjoy buying at the book fair. 🙂
Spelling: This week’s spelling skill contains the -ch or -tch spelling pattern.
Reading: 20-30 minutes of daily reading is highly recommended. December reading logs were sent home Friday.
Fluency: a new fluency will be sent home today. Please have your child read the passage four times a week. Each time should include three attempts. Have them answer the questions in a complete sentence and underline their evidence in the text.
Story of the Week: a new prompt will be sent home today. We love how the students are expressing themselves through this free write.
Math: 3.OA.2
Interpret whole-number quotients of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 56 ÷ 8 as the number of objects in each share when 56 objects are partitioned equally into 8 shares, or as a number of shares when 56 objects are partitioned into equal shares of 8 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a number of shares or a number of groups can be expressed as 56 ÷ 8.
Please have your child practice the multiplication tables daily. multiplication.com, frontrowed.com, mathmagician.com are some of the many sites to practice multiplication and division.
Social Studies: History of Michigan: Lesson 1 includes studying historical clues. Vocabulary study guide was sent Friday.
Snacks: Thanks for providing your child a healthy snack. The students really enjoy them!
Thank you for your help and support,
Mrs. Shakarchi and students in room 217.
