Welcome Back
Dear Families,
Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday with your friends and family. I’m excited to be back with my students. 🙂 🙂
Weekly Updates:
Spelling: This week’s spelling skill contains the K or CK spelling pattern.
Reading: Please continue spending 20-30 minutes reading to or listening to your child read and log the minutes on their November logs. Reading logs are due Thursday, December 1st. Please sign the logs.
Fluency: a new fluency will be sent home today. Please have your child read the passage four times a week. Each time should include three attempts. Have them answer the questions in a complete sentence and underline their evidence in the text.
Story of the Week: a new prompt will be sent home today. We are loving how the students are expressing themselves through this free write.
Math: We are starting unit four. Unit four will include multiplication and division. Many of the students have already mastered/practicing the multiplication tables. Please have your child practice the multiplication tables weekly. multiplication.com , frontrowed.com, mathmagician.com are some of the many sites to practice multiplication and division.
Social Studies: History of Michigan will be our focus for the next few weeks.
Snacks: Thanks for providing your child a healthy snack. The students really enjoy them!
Thanks for your hard work,
Mrs. Shakarchi and students in room 217
